Chick-fil-A staff members from the Restaurant Financial Services department went to the Atlanta Community Food Bank on behalf of the Chick-fil-A Foundation. Volunteers went the second mile in an effort to package 17,024 pounds of food during their visit. The Atlanta Community Food Bank takes strides to provide meals to hungry residents living in the Atlanta area. These meal packages include health and beauty aids, baby products, food, and beverages.
Volunteers from Chick-fil-A packaged boxes weighing up to 40 pounds and did so with a competitive spirit! They went in with a mindset to out-pack the group from the previous day and packaged 5,000 more pounds than that group, totaling 14,186 meals that they were able to provide for hungry families in the Atlanta area.
Financial Management Consultant Daniel Kelley says, “It’s fulfilling to know that individually you can have a positive impact, but as a larger group the influence that you can have in your local community and not just in the local area but reaching out into the suburbs. It’s a great partnership, and I’m looking forward to additional opportunities that it’s going to provide us in the future.”
